OUR STORY
4th Generation Family-Owned Business
This is the story of two kids from neighboring
ranches who fell in love, dreamed big, and created a legacy.
Honnas land and Cattle Co. is a family business that honors its roots from the original family ranches, the Pocahonnas and Tres Bellotas ranches in Southern Arizona.

ABOUT HONNAS LAND & CATTLE CO.
Honnas. Land & Cattle Co. has its roots in Southern Arizona. Cecil and Lottie Honnas Purchased the PocaHonnas and Las Jarillas Ranches for their sons Donald and Raymond in 1961. Raymond sold the Las Jarillas in 1962 and purchased a ranch in Northern Arizona. Donald and his wife Carolyn stayed on the PocaHonnas Ranch until they retired in 2001.

Dr. Lyle Robinson and his wife Mollie purchased the adjoining Tres Bellotas Ranch in 1970. Lyle was a veterinarian by trade but his passion was ranching. Lyle and Mollie raised cattle for 52 years on the Tres Bellotas until they retired in 2022.
The Honnas's son (Cliff) and the Robinson's daughter (Lorie) married in 1982 and have continued the ranching tradition in Central Texas. Now their children are continuing the journey and are using the principles of regenerative ranching to build soil, grow grass, and feed cattle.

SOIL. GRASS. CATTLE.
The rugged mountains of Southern Arizona, near the town of Arivaca, was the location of the PocaHonnas and Tres Bellotas Ranches. Together, these ranches comprised 31,500 acres and ran approximately 950 mama cows. The 3600' elevation produced good year round grazing but required about 36 acres to feed one cow/calf unit for a year. The beef produced in these mountains was in demand and cattle buyers would contract the calves for October delivery. Gathering the cattle was done entirely on horseback as the land was very mountainous and inaccessible by motor vehicles.
